Dr. Ries is asking two separate questions.

1. Now that you have completed the three edTPA lesson plans and written your commentary to go along with those plans, what do you feel that you have learned about lesson planning and commentary writing? How do you think that this assignment has helped as you start thinking about student teaching?

2. Which of the three computer programs that were introduced in this class (to date) will be helpful to you as you think in terms of your student teaching experience?   Why?    (You may choose all three, but tell us how you see them being applied to your lessons).

    1. After writing my three lesson plans and commentary I have learned that I need to be more specific when I am writing. I always think people can read my mind when I write, or talk, so I am never specific enough. I learned, especially in the commentary, that I need to be super specific. This assignment has helped me start thinking about student teaching in many ways. I think it made me think its not going to be an easy journey, but it will be a fun one. It also made me think of every single student that will be in my class next year and how I can prepare to help them.

2.I really think the computer program I presented, Padlet, is going to help me in my student teaching experience. I really like how it can be interactive with the teacher and students. I like how they can create projects, blogs and conversations with each other. I can really see myself using this program next year. I can see students using it to create a map project, to answer a "question of the day" post, to create a history timeline, or to even look at other people's padlets and get ideas from them (for example: creating a list of chores to do, a weekly planner, a KWL chart, a compliment board and so much more)

  2. 1. Once I completed my three lesson plans and commentary, I have learned that I need to be more specific when I am going through my writing. It is important to me that, people read my mind when I write, or talk, and it gets tough at times as I am not specific enough, however, I have learned, especially in the commentary, that I need to be super specific in regards to all that must be completed. This assignment overall gave me guidance in starting tp think about student teaching in many ways. There will most certainly be challenges, but it will be once that is rewarding as time goes on. I cannot wait to help all of my future students out!

    2. I really think the computer program I presented, PBS learning media, is going to help me in my student teaching experience as I really liked how it can be interactive with the teacher and students with so many prompts and or resources at hand. I enjoyed how they can create projects, and do research on various topics provided on that platform. I can really see myself using this program this fall as I can see students using it to create a map project, to answer a "question of the day" post, to create a history timeline, or to even look at other people's examples of what subject they are in and what they are researching. The opportunities are all there for the taking and my students will surely benefit.

  3. 1. After completing my 3 edTPA lesson plans and commentary I feel as though I learned to be descriptive and clear when writing my lesson plan. It is important to be specific when describing what is going to happen in your lesson because it allows the reader or substitute to know what is expected from the lesson. The commentary, I feel, gives an insight in the teachers’ head and information. It explains thoroughly the why and how in the lesson. It was my first time writing a commentary and it gave me a glimpse of what to expect during student teaching. It’s a lot of work but the assignment was helpful and necessary.
    2. I believe I will use the computer program I introduced the most, which was bookcreator. Bookcreator is very engaging and fun for teachers and students. I enjoyed how easy it is to maneuver and create. Also, it’s efficient in these times where some classes are still remote and can’t physically create a book in the classroom.
