What was your most "worthwhile pre-teaching experience" while you were here at the University?
I feel that Caldwell Universities School of Education has indeed prepared myself to take the next steps in my journey to becoming a great teacher. Each specific course that is required and laid out to us hold different and unique agendas in which we as students can grasp, absorb, and then apply that knowledge out in the real world of schools. I know whenever I have questions or concerns, the members of the education department always have their arms open for you and want to encourage you and be there every step of the way while you gain all of the essential knowledge and whereabouts of becoming a great teacher. The professors themselves have a tremendous number of experiences within schools and it shows as the courses go on throughout the semester and it is precious knowledge that should be utilized to the best of our abilities once out in the field as teachers.
ReplyDeleteI feel that currently, my cooperating teacher is preparing me similarly as well and in many aspects. This involves giving tips, enhancing my critical thinking skills within the classroom and how to take command of the classroom, and of course many more of those types of occurrences. She herself has plenty of experience as a teacher within that school district and has a great reputation across that building in how she conducts herself as a teacher, and how her students respond to her on a daily basis. Each day I am there, I really feel as if I belong and that I am in the right place, and once my student teaching approaches this Fall, I will be more than ready for that major next step.
I feel very confident that I can become a competent teacher because of all that I have learned and experienced since my tenure at Caldwell University and the multiple school districts that I have been a part of for my field experience hours. I take pride in how I conducted myself and how students in various classrooms have responded to me when teaching various subjects. I want to have organization and structure as it is extremely essential and should not be looked over as each and every day there is only one direction to go in... and that is forward! I plan to install this type of thinking and confidence building blocks that me the teacher, my students, the students' parents, and all of the other important figures of education behind on as the best way to push for and have success in a classroom environment.
If there was anything that those figures could have done differently that could have helped me more along this journey to becoming an outstanding teacher could involve; introducing technology in the classroom at a more effective rate, personalizing the learning experience of the students to a higher extent, and even involving the parents in the classroom. Overall, there is SO much to be able to touch upon and it is my goal as a future teacher to do my part in ensuring that the students and myself are at their absolute best each and every day as learning is an experience that can really mold these young learners into something special as they get older.
My most worthwhile pre-teaching experience that occurred while I was at the University would be being told while out on the field from a second-grade student after my lesson was done that, I did a great job. She proceeded to raise her hand after the conclusion of the lesson to only say such kind and touching words once I got to her. Second graders are very young and all have unique personalities, but that comment made really touched my heart and just made me self-reflect and realize that everything is happening for a reason and that nothing can stop me in my path to becoming a teacher and being one that represents confidence and motivation to learn each and every day of the school year.

DeleteI feel that Caldwell University’s School of Education prepares their students to the highest level there is. We are expected to do a lot and it mentally and physically prepares us for our future career. Every class I’ve had to take in Caldwell for Education has been extremely fun and kept me on my toes. With all the observation hours we are required to do it allows us to get an insight on different aspects of districts, teachers, and students.
ReplyDeleteI do feel like my cooperating teacher is preparing me similarly. Last semester she had me observe more than be involved but this time around she threw me in and gave me ‘morning meeting’s every Thursday and Friday. Meaning I am responsible for the students engagement for 30 minutes and it has really pushed me. It’s overwhelming with everything I am already doing but it is so fun!.
I do feel confident that I will become a competent teacher because of my cooperating teacher. She is my age and is brilliant! She has so much to offer me and already gives me! I am definitely learning a lot from her.
I do not believe there is anything that could be done to make me become a better teacher, because there are already many requirements and deadlines that encourage students for this career path.
My most worthwhile pre teaching experience that occurred while I have been in Caldwell would be while in my observation school, on the last day, each student made me a card that said they would miss me. I was in love with the school but I wasn’t able to go back due to COVID.
