1. What strengths do you believe that you can bring to the classroom next semester? What strengths do you believe that you can bring to the school in which you will finally teach?
2. What was the most memorable thing you took away from your first observation this semester? Is the class large in number? Are the students being taught remotely or are they in class? Are the students attentive? What is the ability range in the class, e.g., below grade level, on grade level, above grade level? Number of boys? Number of girls? Overall enthusiasm for learning?
3. What challenges do you think you might encounter as you start your student teaching in this class?
1. Some strengths I believe I can bring to the classroom next semester is my patience, my dedication, my caring attitude, my positive energy and my overall willingness to teach and want the best for my students. Some strengths I believe I can bring to the school in which I will teach at are having relationships with all the staff members, including the principal and becoming involved in things around the school with students and teachers.
ReplyDelete2. The most memorable thing that I took away from your first observation this semester was how engaged the students were while I was teaching. I really enjoyed teaching this class. The class number is quite large. There are 9 students in person learning, and 9 students remote learning so it was a challenge to balance teaching both sides. Most of the students in the class are on grade level with their subjects. There are 9 boys and 9 girls in the classroom. Their enthusiasm for learning is not the best. They often complain and do not want to be in school. I think it is hard for these students today because everything is virtual, there are rarely anymore hands on assignments for them to have fun with.
3.Some challenges I think I might encounter as I start my student teaching is having to co-teach with my teacher. I really enjoy being with my teacher, but it is going to be hard to collaborate with her. I am a lot better when I work independently therefore I assume I would work a lot better being the head teacher in the class so this is something I am going to have to get used to. I also assume some other challenges will include, lack of experience, minimal knowledge (of students and school), few practical skills, and like I said above having to teach with another teacher. I also feel like I will have a challenge with adjusting. For us at Caldwell who are going for special education, we are required to do half the semester with our general education teacher and half with a special education teacher. I am nervous to be "thrown" into a special education classroom and have to student teach with a class halfway through the semester that I have no bond with and have minimal knowledge about.

1. Certain strengths that I believe I can bring to the classroom next semester include my patience, my absolute best, my commitment to success, bringing forth positive vibes and my overall mission to teach and to always put my students first. Some strengths I know that I can bring to the school in which I will teach relationships that will branch with all the staff members, including the principal, vice principal, and of course the plentiful amount of other teachers in or not in my grade level assigned. Being involved in school functions is a major priority of mine and I want to make that very clear with my actions from the beginning.
ReplyDelete2. The most memorable thing that I took away from my first observation this semester was how engaged and well behaved the students were while I was up and center. These third graders are absolutely fantastic to work with and I could not be more lucky to be apart of this amazing group of students. The class number is at full capacity as their is a full classroom of 20 kids every single day throughout the week. The majority of the students in the class are on grade level with their subjects and there are a total of 6 boys and 14 girls in this IN-person classroom. Their drive and charisma for learning is quite exceptional as they all enjoy being there despite all of the chaos that is still going on.
3.The challenges that I believe I will encounter as I start my student teaching is having to co-teach with my teacher. Being with my teacher has been a unique privilege's, but it just might be difficult at times to collaborate with her. When I work independently, I feel I have the handle of anything I am doing which will also include the classroom, therefore, I feel I would work a lot better being the head teacher in the class, however, I am looking forward to this next challenge and I plan to co-teach accordingly. There will be some other challenges will include, lack of experience, minimal knowledge of students and school and as mentioned prior having to teach with another teacher. For us at Caldwell who are going for special education, we are required to do half the semester with our general education teacher and half with a special education teacher. It will be interesting to see how everything pans out.
