I am interested in knowing how you study for the Praxis exam?
1. What methods do you use to break down various questions?
2. What are some helpful hints that have helped you to achieve a good score on certain Praxis tests?
3. Do you think that the Praxis is a fair test forum for us to pass before going into the field of education? Why or why not?
I purchased a book on AMAZON that came with practice test and it actually gives explanations of the answers at the end of the book.
ReplyDelete1. I actually time myself when studying, I also found a very helpful time efficient method that allows me to directly go to the actual question of the problem and not have to waste time on the rest of the words. This method helps reduce time while testing and can offer a quick answer.
2. ^^ Thats one of my hints and just timing myself when studying, give myself an hour and a half for each subject so I dont over work myself.
3. I don't believe it is a fair test. I have taken the test so many times, hours of studying, and I fail by a few points. At first it discouraged me and it's quite expensive. I know it tests your knowledge but I have learned so much more actually being in the field of education than the PRAXIS testing.
I bought the Mometrix book off of google. The early childhood book I purchased from them actually helped me a lot on the test. So far I have studied the math section in the elementary book I got, and it did not seem to help me much.
ReplyDelete1. I do not really have a method of breaking down questions. I normally just read over the information and highlight important ket points.
2.Some helpful hints that have helped me achieve a good score is to just keep studying. Don't just study the information once, keep studying it! I also have learned to manage my time well while taking my test so I am not rushing to finish.
3.I do not believe it is a fair test. I believe the tests are a little bit of the information you know but also a little bit of luck. You are always going to get a different version of the test than someone else or even a different version of one you got the previous time (if you failed). I do not think tests should be the one of the final factors to helping us get our degree. I am not a good test taker at all, but that does not mean I will not be a good teacher.
