Just a personal question from Dr. Ries

How has this  Covid-19pandemic affected your life ..........outside of the classroom?   What are you looking forward to doing this summer that you were unable to do last summer?

  1. Covid-19 affected me in the beginning with not being able to work, and adjusting to online classes. I feel like I went into a slight depression from not being able to socialize and be outside. So much has changed with the world because of the pandemic. I was also sick with COVID-19 during halloween and I despised it! Today, things are TRYING to get back to regular but nothing will ever be the same. I am trying to actually go on vacation somewhere outside of NJ, maybe Hawaii. :)

  2. The pandemic has affected everyone is different ways. When the pandemic first started I stopped working. I did not go back to work until August so I was not making any money for about 5-6 months. Thankfully, my parents always offer to help me out. My whole family for the virus right after Christmas so we had to quarantine from that and I was out of work once again. Other than that, it has not affected me too badly. I am a homebody so I like being home and the pandemic allowed me to do that. Things I was not able to do last year was go to my house in Florida in the summer and have our huge holiday gatherings such as Halloween (my whole family loves Halloween), Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am hoping this year holidays will be back to normal again.

Some things I am looking forward to doing this summer that I was unable to do last summer is visiting my house in Florida. I am going the end of May and will go again in August. Other than that I am looking forward to just being outside and enjoying the nice weather.

  3. The Covid-19 pandemic has really taken its toll for sure, however, it all about having a positive perspective. I would have to stop working for a time and also change up my routine in order to take care of my grandmother properly following the CDC and or distancing guidelines. As many negatives as there were, I tried to make positive outcomes by providing joy and optimism towards my family members.

Things that I am looking forward to this summer that could not occur last summer would be to simply be outside much more and enjoy life without the constant fear that has loomed over us for quite sometime. Its time for everyone to be responsible and take the right steps towards normality.
